Get your employees trained in your county at no cost to you. Training programs include ESL, communications skills, computer skills, and management acumen at your local Community College or your facility. Customized training is also available based on your company’s needs.

Dental Assissting

• Workforce Training - Healthcare

The Dental Assisting Program offers students extensive training which will allow them to develop the skills needed to perform a variety of dental office procedures and laboratory techniques as well as the knowledge associated with medical and dental terminology, anatomy & physiology, with an emphasis placed on head and neck anatomy, dental law and ethics, and patient rights.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound)

Credentials: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with an AB Specialty, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with an OB/GYN Specialty

• Workforce Training - Healthcare

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) program is designed for individuals to receive the technical skills and training needed to become an ultrasound technologist.

Massage Therapy

Credentials: Massage and Bodywork Therapist License

• Workforce Training - Healthcare

Students are nurtured as they develop a solid foundation in a variety of massage styles and techniques including Swedish, Sports, Therapeutic and Shiatsu, as well as administrative aspects of working a variety of environments and working independently. This program provides the students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be prepared for entry-level employment opportunities, both administrative and clinical, in Massage Therapy and related fields. Along with additional requirements, this level of education enables graduates to apply for a state license.

Medical Assisting

The program prepares students for Medical Assisting positions that are either clinical or administrative in nature. Students complete coursework in clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG and lab procedures and in administrative areas such as computers and medical office procedures. The program also contains a clinical externship which is completed in an outside medical facility. Upon completion, graduates will have the entry-level skills of a Medical Assistant and be qualified to interview for positions in a variety of healthcare facilities.

This program uses a combination of distance education for online ‘theory’ courses and hands-on campus lab courses to teach entry-level electrician skills like understanding circuitry, safety practices, and basic electrical theory.

This course is designed for those who have a CDL but have not driven for six months or more. Smith & Solomon offers 40 and 160-hour refresher courses so you can brush up on your skills in a commercial vehicle.

St. Francis Community Center Workforce Learning Link

Eligible participants who have been identified through the One Stop Career Center will receive individualized education and job readiness plans. Program has been designed to increase participants educational levels to enter training, obtain HS Diploma, learn English and career/job skills to achieve self- sufficiency.

Eligible participants will gain employability skills through a variety of workshops, identify barriers to employment; resume building, work readiness, credentials and computer skills. Each participant will create an individualized plan to build skills towards self-sufficiency.

Class A CDL includes vehicles weighing over 26,000 lbs, with a trailer weighing more than 10,000 lbs, and can drive any Class B Vehicle.

CDL Class B+P (Bus Driving Training)

Credentials: Class B CDL, Passenger Endorsement (P)

This course prepares students to take their written permit exam in order to receive a Class B CDL with Endorsements, including: air brakes and passenger. This bus license provides certification for jobs in the passenger/bus driving industry other than school bus; it does not qualify an individual for work in any school bus related field or position.

School bus driver training for New Jersey starts with getting your endorsements. All of New Jersey school bus drivers employed or not, must get both P (passenger) and S(school bus) endorsements.

EZ WHEELS DRIVING SCHOOL forklift certification training provides a comprehensive step by step program for OSHA Safety and the proper operation of forklifts. The program includes instruction, training, testing and certification. The student will have proper instruction for material handling, vehicle safety training and OSHA compliance.

The Work Readiness Assistance Program (WRAP)

The Work Readiness Assistance Program (WRAP) is for out-of-school young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 living in Ocean County. WRAP provides free services to address academic, career, and financial goals. Services are also provided by various community partners to engage young adults and adults in educational programs, career exploration, work readiness training, internships, on-the-job learning, leadership development, job placement, adult mentoring, and work experience opportunities. The WRAP grant has built-in support services to also assist young adults struggling with transportation, mental health, food insecurities, and more.

Adult Education, Civics & Workforce Preparation Program (AECWP)

The Adult Education, Civics & Workforce Preparation Program (AECWP) provides free comprehensive services to Ocean County residents. The AECWP program is housed within the Workforce and Professional Education Department on the main campus at Ocean County College and throughout the county. The Program provides the following: High School equivalency test preparation English As A Second Language (ESL) Classes Workforce preparation skills development Digital Literacy for Basic Computer Skills Integrated Education Training Family literacy events Additional services include case management and access to OCC resources such as: Tutoring Center Helping Hands Food Pantry Disability Services Counseling Library Accommodations for students can be provided based on needs and barriers to assist with successful program completion.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Students will attend 90 hours of training consisting of fifty (50) hours of classroom instruction and fourty (40) hours of hands on clinical experience in a long-term care facility. Successful completion of a New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services approved training program provides the student with the opportunity to qualify to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and become gainfully employed in the long term care industry.

Certified Home Health Aide

Credentials: Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)

The 76 Hour Certified Home Health Aide Training course follows the New Jersey Board of Nursing curriculum. Student will cover topics including the roles and responsibilities of the caregiver, safety, communication, the basics of nursing. They will also learn and be able to successfully demonstrate technical and clinical skills in the laboratory and patient care setting. Upon completion of the program, the students application will be sent to the Board of Nursing for approval and certification.

10 Hour Bridge Course- CNA to CHHA

Those who currently hold a valid CNA certification may enroll in the 10- Hour Bridge course. This course was designed by the NJ Board of Nursing to provide training in Home Health Care to caretakers transferring from another setting.

The Helms Academy

Goodwill’s Helms Academy provides a tuition free way for individuals to earn a high school diploma through a traditional testing route (GED/HiSET) and/or by attaining up to 30 college credits. Goodwill's collegiate partners include: Camden County College, Community College of Philadelphia, Ocean County College, Rowan College of South Jersey/Rowan University, Rutgers University and Temple University. Goodwill is a NJ State Approved HiSET Testing Center.

NJWA Water and Wastewater Systems Operations Apprenticeship Program

The Apprenticeship Program lays a firm foundation for apprentices to thrive upon completion. With little to no cost, apprentices will attend an approximately 2-year training program. From classroom instruction and on-the-job training, you are provided the tools necessary to be a successful operation specialist in your community. During your apprenticeship, you earn-while-you-learn from knowledgeable, passionate people who strive to deliver clean drinking water to their community and treat wastewater before returning it to the environment. This program starts as a job and emerges as a solid and secure career as either a water operations specialist or wastewater operations specialist.
