About Focus NJ

Who We Are:

Focus NJ, Inc. (Focus NJ) is an independent research non-profit conducting timely, innovative, nonpartisan economic and workforce research to support sound public policy in New Jersey.

What We Study

With the goal of creating a New Jersey where individuals and businesses can thrive, Focus NJ conducts research on public policies, industry trends, and economic indicators that impact the Garden State’s overall affordability, workforce and competitiveness.

Areas of Focus

Economic Trends

To ensure New Jersey is competitive and affordable, it is imperative to evaluate our state’s attractability with respect to GDP, employment, wage growth, adjusted gross income and the outmigration of both the state’s wealth and young adults.

Education

To best prepare for the workforce needs of the future, New Jersey must maintain and retain a highly educated population. This can be done through the promotion of K-12 and postsecondary education, experiential learning, stackable credentials and degrees, and career-focused curricula.

Workforce Development

With the economy changing at a rapid pace, business, government and academia must collaborate to provide career pathways and public-private partnerships that keep the jobs of the future at the forefront of conversation today.
