Jobs for America’s Graduates New Jersey

Provided by New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation

Jobs for America’s Graduates New Jersey (JAG NJ) is part of the national Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) initiative. JAG’s mission is to help young people of great promise succeed both in school and on the job, leading to productive and rewarding careers. In the last four decades, JAG has helped more than 1.5 million vulnerable youth and young adults nationwide overcome significant economic, emotional, social, and academic challenges. JAG NJ is implemented as an elective, credit-bearing course in partnering high schools (Newark: Barringer High School, West Side High School, Shabazz High School, Weequahic High School; Carteret High School; New Brunswick Adult Learning Center C.A.R.E.S Program; Passaic High School; Vineland High School; and Pinelands Regional High School) and alternative education program (Leaders for Life in Newark). The objectives of the program are to ensure a minimum of 90% of participating seniors graduate from high school, at least 35% pursue post-secondary education and that at least 60% of the graduates who are working are engaged in full-time employment.
