Workforce Development Board / One-Stop System

The Workforce Development Board (WDB), in concert with the County Executive, is a policy-making body on workforce development and is mandated by the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Represented by a diverse group of stakeholders in the private and public sector, the Board is responsible for developing strategies and policies to form a seamless, coordinated One-Stop System for an array of educational, employment and training programs that will meet the current and future demands of Essex County employers. Workforce Development Board/One-Stop System provides employment training development planning and offers training opportunities to dislocated workers and out of school youth.
